How old do you have to be to start underlining the words in greeting cards?

Is this the benchmark for the beginning of "elderly"?

I make most of the cards that I give, but for the few that I buy, I am interested in underlining certain words or adding my own punctuation. How many decades until I can get away with this?

You crafty lizard, making your own greeting cards. :)

I also like to make cards, and I have sometimes added words and punctuation to the ones I buy.

My mom has consistently been a word-underliner for as long as I can remember, so I don't associate the trait with any particular age.

I say it suggests an underlying passion, so feel free to underline away.

If you want to be more cryptic in your sentiments, perhaps underline the words one would not expect to see underlined, or underline words, that if put together, add a whole new sentence to the card.

Highlighter in lieu of underlining adds a very official and document-like touch.

:)
Reply:I personally don't think it matters how old you are. If you feel it is necessary, go ahead and do it. Props to you for making many of your cards.
Reply:You are always to old to do that. If I get a card that someone underlined a word , I about puke.
Reply:lol...good point, but i dont see an age limit. teehee. ;)
Reply:I'm 18 and I do that, so just go for it :)
