I make greeting cards, where can I find sponsors who r willing to invest in my work?

I make beautiful hand made cards, books, boxes, envelopes, photo albums, bookmarks and so on. Im looking for a company or sponsor who is willing to invest in my work as I have hundreds of designs and am wanting to reproduce them, they are origional designs and iv not seen anything close to it in any shops around UK, Australia and in Asia and even on the Web...

Thank You :)

I make greeting cards, where can I find sponsors who r willing to invest in my work?
Try locally owned scrapbook stores and Hallmark stores. Also, sometimes vendor booths at fairs. Many stores like selling something locally made.

Good luck!
Reply:don't try hallmark

there are any number of producers who activly use freelance artists

hallmark just ain't what it's cracked up to be anymore
Reply:The best thing would be to send some of your designs to all the craft magazines....if you do this make sure that you copyright your original designs first so they cant turn round and make them up as their own design.

If you want to sell any of your designs to shops you will probs get very little per item as shops will be wanting a 100% mark up so you will need to see if its worth it after cost of materials and a wage for yourself as no point in working for nothing. They would also want exclusive rights to the designs that you make for them. Also all of the materials that you use to make your craft items would have to be copyright free...maybe ok to use the papers/images etc for items that you give away but not if you want to sell them.

Good luck
Reply:how much do you need.
Reply:I would say go with some legal protection before you start plugging your product. There are several companies that are always looking to improve. Instead of trying to slay the Hallmark dragon first, start with their competition. They'll be more intersted if they think it could give them an edge. Be as formal as you can be in your approach and be sure to let them know that you chose to come to their company first because you believe in their small business values. If they reject you then start swinging for the fences. Google it up and collect yourself some contacts, fix up your portfolio, and hack out a well prepared presentation and your in like Flynt. Be careful to hide your best ideas but be sure to allude to them when talking to the representative(s). Best of luck to you.
Reply:Publishers of cards and stationery will just pay you for the design and the sell the products and get the lion's share.

Try a bank or something like the Princes Trust who invest in small businesses.

But if you just want to freelance then try Caroline Gardiner, Second Nature, Hotch Potch, Gibsons, Carlton, Paper Rose.
Reply:try selling them on www.jtbids.com low fees more profit
Reply:Try speaking to a business advisor at your local Business Link

www.businesslink.gov.uk

Also, find out where the relevant trade fairs are in the UK and you can either exhibit or visit with some samples and speak to other company's stands.
Reply:Try Hallmark and not Yahoo.
Reply:Try local churches and also flea markets attract alot of people who want something different then what you can find at a mall
Reply:my mums friend makes cards and she was interested in selling them. she took them to a florist and they started to sell them there. maybe you could visit local florists or gift shops
Reply:You may want to consider promoting yourself and your products in a professional manner with a website, gallery, and simple things like full color brochures and sales flyers. Work up a media or press kit type portfolio and present it to publishers and stores that produce the type and style of work.

Good Luck!
Reply:Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question - but I was wondering if you have a website or anything where people can purchase any of your items now?
